Marveling at Marbuena

After the wrath of several typhoons, the sun is slowly showing up. And since it is the semestral break, teens are eager to leave the comforts of their home to see what the "outside" has to offer.

In this generation this can mean two things though; one: go to the island of Boracay and party till the wee hours of the morning or go out of town and party till the wee hours of the morning... hmmmmm.... right..

But there are some people who are the exemption to the standard rule. These people are rebels of their generation. They don't want to go to gimmicks, clubs and parties, all they want is the peace and quiet that only mother nature can offer.

There are many islands who can offer what these "anti-party" people want. And Marbuena is one of them...

local drug smugglers used to catch monkeys and stuff their stomachs with illegal drugs, thus the term "shamu" (shabu and amo- the local term for monkey)

thanks Lee. hehe. I had to wake-up at about 4am for the sunrise.. hehe and there were really lots and lots of birds there coming back to the island but I cant take a proper exposure because its too dark and the birds get blurred in the shot. hehe... I had to wait at about 5:45 or 6 am for the shot to have visible birds in them..hehe maybe you should include this island in your "to go to" list next time....

I might, Vince. But for sure, Guimaras (N. Valencia, islands/islets hopping) is already in my hit list. I'm struggling to squeeze in Palawan in my planned 3-weeks stay there comes mid-Jan. 2010. Thanks for the suggestion!

Sakay ka bus to Iloilo, then sakay ka Sara-Ajuy. Gling dapat mpa-book ka gid, ag mejo mahal. Their office is the clinic inside Rose Pharmacy in front of WVSU-MC. Yep, it all on the island. hehe. You just have to walk around the island, but be sure to bring mosquito repellents, both topical and spray stuff. hehe
